Jacob Garcia, 23, of Allentown, was eastbound on State Route 22 near MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 when he shot at a white Dodge Charger in the lane next to him, state police said in a release.
Authorities said the driver was hospitalized with at least one gunshot wound, though condition as of Monday, Oct. 31 is unclear.
Police have not revealed a suspected motive for the shooting, but according to court documents obtained by WFMZ, the victim told investigators he and Garcia were involved in a road rage incident.
Filings also show that Garcia voluntarily surrendered to police the same day, the outlet reported.
State court records show Garcia was booked on Friday, Oct. 28. He is held in Lehigh County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond, officials said.
Garcia is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 7, police added.
